Brad Tipler has had consistent success leading technology teams that deliver breakthrough innovation in new strategic products that delight customers. He has been a founder or founding member of three startups with one exit, and now mentors startups and lectures on entrepreneurism and patent strategies.
With “Forrest Gump” timing Brad has managed to play significant roles in the technologies that have shaped our time. He was previously the Chairman of Bluetooth SIG, announcing the official release of Bluetooth 1.0 and building the world’s first Bluetooth devices and was also the former Director of Engineering at Intel.
Brad has built routers on “bare metal” for the ARPAnet, managing the Canadian branch of the Internet and participating in the development of DNS when it was still in alpha. He is also the co-author of the NATO STANAG 4257 standard, which was the basis of inter-nation communications during Desert Storm and invented a technology for providing medical-grade video and remote-control high-res image from common cell phones. Brad is an expert in IP litigation and has taught attorney teams about the technology at suit in cases involving wireless standards, RF, silicon design and processes, power management, networking, IoT, power, G3/G4/G5 cellular, video, cameras, and navigation.
Brad’s current passion is career strategy, and he is currently writing a related book and developing online tools. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University and a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering from Carleton University.
